David Kakuktinniq

President, Nukik Corporation

David Kakuktinniq is the President of Nukik Corporation and President and CEO of Sakku Investments Corporation, the Inuit birthright organization of the Kivalliq Inuit Association.  David, who grew up in Rankin Inlet, came to Sakku with a wealth of experience from the Private Sector, Inuit Organizations and Government along with a series of board appointments that span over 28 years of direct work and professional experience. Mr. Kakuktinniq has been an important member of Sakku since September 2012, first serving as the Director of Operations (2012-2015), then as Vice President (2015-2016), and promoted to President & CEO in March 2016 to today.

In his current areas of responsibilities, Mr. Kakuktinniq is involved at various levels and as a board of director in the management and operations of 20 Joint Venture companies. In addition, he holds the title of President of Sakku Enterprise Limited and of Sakku Properties Limited as wholly owned and operated subsidiary companies that are run directly by Sakku Investments Corporation. In an area of significance to Inuit, David also provides leadership roles within the Pan Arctic Inuit Logistics (PAIL) company, and by extension with the Nasittuq Corporation, involved in providing services to the Department of National Defence in Alert and with previous engagements with the North Warning System. These kinds of relationships are linked to happenings that occur on a national scale within the Inuit political and economic movements such as with the Inuit Development Corporation Association (IDCA).
